Set against the background of the increasingly threatening Nazi regime, a Jewish girl is sent to safety. But the enemy catches up with her. Her happy life in a new foster family is abruptly disrupted when the letter arrives summoning them to report to a concentration camp. Collaborators, helpers, resistance workers all play their part in this story which sees the girl miraculously survive.
