Who are we
At Filmkantoor, we are delighted by stories with a beating heart. Stories that make room for who people truly are, that celebrate differences, and in which connection, depth, and wonder are palpable. We listen attentively, think along with boldness, and film with love. This is how we make films that touch, stir something, or make us pause for a moment.

For those stories, we are looking for someone who feels at home in editing. Someone who quickly understands how a story can best be told and how that resonates with the people for whom it is intended. You work from a place of curiosity, you know what a viewer needs, and you know how to convey that through sight and sound.

It doesn't matter to us where you learned that. Years at an agency, alone in your attic room, or somewhere in between. We look at your work.

What you are going to do
From our office in Voorschoten, you will work on a wide range of videos: b-roll interviews, social content, brand films, informational films, and other creative productions.

You aren't left guessing the story on your own. Our director reviews the content based on the transcripts, while you build the video. We make a lot of films, usually with a short production time. Switching gears quickly and daring to make choices are part of the job.

You are not just focused on technically putting a video together well. You primarily think about rhythm, story, emotion, and what a viewer needs at each moment.

On set, we work with a small crew, usually a director and a cameraman with an intern or camera assistant. Everyone does their own thing independently there. We ask the same of you in the office, because we are regularly shooting on location while you need to be able to continue with a production.

Who we are looking for
We really ask for one thing: that you independently produce a good edit. From raw material to a polished version.

- You have a feel for content and storytelling.
- You work independently from raw material to a strong first draft.
You work quickly and dare to make choices.
You enjoy the variety between many different types of productions.
You enjoy working in a team, but can also work perfectly fine on your own for a full day.
You are open to feedback and enjoy working together to make a production a little better each time.
- You can work with Adobe Premiere Pro. We use that at the office.
- You live near Voorschoten, or have no problem coming to our office.

Color editing and sound design are a nice bonus, but not a requirement. We do ask, however, that you are willing to learn them and pick them up quickly, because they are part of the job here.

Another nice bonus: that you follow the latest developments in video, editing, and AI.
