(auto-translated from Dutch Dutch)
Our short film 'Halama', lasting 5-10 minutes. In it, we address discrimination regarding secondary school recommendations. Research shows that children with foreign parents systematically receive a lower recommendation. We find that ridiculous. It is a student production for our final year at Breda University and submissions to international film schools.
What we offer
We offer an expense allowance for the days you are present on set. This consists of a travel allowance.

Description
We are currently casting Khadija, the mother of our main character. We are looking for someone with an Arabic/Middle Eastern appearance for Khadija. Hijabs are very welcome! Khadija speaks Arabic with her daughter. It would involve filming for a few hours one-two times in the Zoetermeer region. We hope to start filming at the end of October. If you are interested, please send a message to [email protected] or a WhatsApp message to +31 6 38486502.
It is important that you speak fluent Arabic for this role. The main character is Moroccan herself. You play the mother of an 11-year-old girl; for this, we use an age of 30+ as a guideline.
Period
We aim to film in late October 2026, possibly extending into early November. Filming days would consist of two sessions of several hours each.
