On Sunday, September 25, Marc van Uchelen's feature film debut premieres at the Netherlands Film Festival. The film was made in a unique way: without a budget and filmed entirely with webcams, cameras the size of a matchbox.

WEBCAM is the tragicomic story of Antoin, a bachelor who is tired of being alone. When his neighbor Rob offers to help him with online dating, he eagerly accepts the offer.

A miracle happens: Rob finds the Russian Natasha for Antoin and has her come over to the Netherlands. What Antoin doesn't know, however, is that Natasha is actually the secret internet mistress of the married Rob, who is seizing this opportunity to have her close to him.

Van Uchelen had been mulling over the story of Webcam for some time, but could not find funding to turn it into a film. Therefore, he sought a clever way to visualize the story and came up with the idea of shooting the film entirely using webcams. For this, he used extreme sports cameras the size of a matchbox.

Director Marc van Uchelen also wrote the story for the film and asked his alter ego Horace Cohen to play the lead role.
Additionally, John Buijsman, Frieda Pittoors, Angelique de Bruijne, Fabian Jansen, Tara Baerveldt, and Lies Visschedijk play roles in the film.

WEBCAM has been selected for the Golden Calf competition and can be seen multiple times this week at the Netherlands Film Festival. The film has also been included in the Cinema Delicatessen program 'NFF on Tour 2011' following the festival.
