Logline:
When two friends sneak into a swimming pool at night, banter and awkward silences turn into an unexpected journey to the core of their feelings.

In "Wat Diep Ligt" the word saudade is central: the deep, melancholic longing for connection, freedom and understanding, both of yourself and of another. The aim is to tell an intimate story in which two young women, each with their own insecurities and desires, discover what it means to break free from old patterns and find the strength to embrace the unknown. The film captures those vulnerable moments in which the unspoken weighs as much as the words, and shows how small acts of courage and rebellion can fill the void with meaning.

What do we offer?
This is a passion project, so unfortunately we cannot offer compensation. However, we do have budget available for any additional equipment and we offer reimbursement of expenses and well-prepared, tasty catering during the shooting days. This project offers a great opportunity to build material for your portfolio and work with a passionate crew.

In addition, the film will be submitted to multiple film festivals. We also seek collaborations with LGBTQ+ centers and cultural institutions, and explore opportunities for educational screenings.

Description
We are looking for the following positions

Screenwriter
We now have a third version of the script, but we are looking for someone who can take this to the next level and fully focus on refining the story until the shoot.

Director of Photography
We are looking for an experienced DoP, as the project involves watershooting, including shots shot from the water. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with these challenges and willing to take them on. (Own Equipment would be nice)

Soundman/woman / Post Soundman/woman
We are looking for someone who wants to be responsible for the sound mixing on set and sound editing in post production. Creating a strong, atmospheric soundscape that enhances the story. (Own equipment would be nice)

Job requirements / profile
Screenwriter:
- Experience in writing screenplays, preferably for short films.
- Strong in developing dialogues and emotional layers.
- Able to incorporate feedback and take the script to the next level.
- Available to start immediately and remain actively involved with the script until the shoot.

Director of Photography (DoP):
- Experience working in challenging conditions, such as water shooting.
- Creative vision to create visually impressive and emotionally charged scenes.
- Knowledge of camera techniques and lighting that suit an intimate, atmospheric film.
- Willing to work closely with the director and crew.

Soundman/woman / Post Soundman/woman:
- Experience with sound recording and/or editing for film.
- Able to create an atmospheric and immersive soundscape and work with poor sound conditions.
- Available to support during post-production.

Other functions (Set Manager, Focus Puller, Assistant Gaffer, Best Boy/Girl/Person):
- Experience in the relevant position is a plus, but enthusiasm and eagerness to learn are at least as important.
- Willing to be part of a passionate and dedicated team.
- Flexible deployment on the specified recording days.
