Male actors who can sing wanted for a short 19th century costume drama musical!

For a short 19th century costume drama musical film we are looking for two male actors who can dance and sing besides acting! Has it always been your dream to play in a musical film? This is your chance!

Practical information: The shooting will take place on April 7, 11 and 14. There will also be a studio day for recording the songs, so keep that in mind! This will be planned in consultation. Furthermore, this is a graduation project so the budget is tight. A tasty and healthy lunch will be provided on set. Travel expenses will be reimbursed!

The Story

The film tells the story of Henry, the son of a tailor, who grows up in his father's colorful sewing attic. His father is a true craftsman, known for his beautiful creations full of color and texture. When Henry's father gets the chance to open his own shop in a village nearby, they grab it with both hands.
However, upon arrival, the village is drab and dull, and his father's colorful clothes don't sell at all. Out of necessity, they adapt: the sparkling designs make way for everyday, boring clothing.

Years later, Henry yearns for the inspiration and freedom he felt as a child in his father’s attic. When a traveling troupe of street performers visits the village, it ignites a burning dream in him. Determined, Henry decides to do everything he can to transform the drab village into a colorful paradise – a place where everyone can be themselves and creativity can flourish.

Why do we want to make this film?

With this film we show that dreams don't have to remain dreams, but can also become reality. We address important themes such as being yourself, queer representation, breaking gender roles, deviating from the norm and continuing to believe in yourself and your dreams.

The film is meant to inspire: to hold on to your dreams, despite setbacks or people who say something is not possible. It is a call to persevere and fight for what you want to achieve. In addition, I hope that this film encourages (young) people to be themselves, regardless of what the outside world thinks.

Role 1: Henry, light features and a soft appearance. Brown or light hair, preferably curly. Approximately 25 years old. The character has a naive and innocent view of the world and is hopeful. He is convinced that he can give the world more color and can sometimes see this mission too optimistically. He is convinced of his ideas and does not let his environment stop him, no matter how unrealistic his dreams seem. He remains hopeless and keeps on persevering despite all setbacks, ultimately perhaps at the expense of himself.

Role 2: Diego, slim but muscular build, dark features, a sweet appearance. About 25 years old. Talents: singing, dancing (preferably modern and ballet) Character: stands firm and is himself. Has a pleasant and reassuring presence and is a true friend. He can easily put others at ease and encourages people to do the best. He is empathetic but also knows what he wants himself and is not afraid to fight for it
