We are casting for a powerful, character-led short film shooting this June in Amsterdam. This thesis film explores identity, self-doubt, and the power of self-expression through the lens of portrait photography.

At its heart, the story is about imposter syndrome, creative self-doubt, and the transformation that comes from turning the lens inward. It’s about the masks we wear and the courage it takes to take them off.

The shooting period will take place as follows: 4th to 7th of June, 11th to 15th of June and 17th to 21st of June.
(You will not be needed for every day, but availability during this window is important.)

This film follows Tish, a young photographer who has just landed her first major artistic opportunity. But when things go wrong and she begins to question the worth of her work, she spirals into self-doubt. Through her interactions with a model, a mentor, a best friend, and herself, Tish must face the truth: the core of her subject is her own reflection.

Description
We are looking for talents to fill these roles:

TISH (Lead, 25, Female) (preferably a person of colour)
Introverted, highly observant, and talented. Tish is a photographer who sees the world in detail—but struggles to see her own value. Constantly comparing herself to others, she hides behind her camera until life forces her to become her own subject.

BRE (Supporting, Early 20s, Female) (preferably a person of colour)
On the outside, striking and enigmatic. Bre is used to being looked at, but not really seen. A moment of vulnerability during a shoot leaves her unexpectedly exposed. She's caught between confidence and fragility.

ANABEL (Supporting, Mid-20s, Female)
Tish’s best friend.
Warm and witty.. She’s supportive, grounded, and always ready with the right words—even when they’re hard to hear.

PATRICIA (Supporting, 40s, Female)
A seasoned art professional. Polished, articulate, and intimidating. She pushes Tish to rise to the level of her talent. Can be cold and exacting, but only because she sees potential.

JACK (Minor, 40s, Male)
An art critic and collector. Confident and just a bit condescending. His words sting but also challenge. He sees art as a test and is not easily impressed.

MIRIAM (Minor, 60s, Female) (preferably a person of colour)
A renowned curator with high standards. She speaks little, but everything she says matters. Her approval is rare—but when she gives it, it’s profound.
