"Get Used to It" is about actress M. She's almost fifty, going through menopause, and is constantly reminded of it. Her sex life is nonexistent, her listless teenage son, Ole, opposes everything she does, and she ultimately loses her beloved role as an actress in a police series. That's why M. decides she needs to rediscover herself.

The book, which was nominated for the NS Audience Award, has sold over 175,000 copies. The film is directed by Albert Jan van Rees, who previously created "Toren C" with Maike Meijer and Margot Ros. The screenplay is by Maike Meijer and screenwriter Lotte Tabbers (of "Daddy Day," "Floor Rules"). Meike Meijer herself plays the lead role.
