Blue Bird Boy is a short film that explores universal themes of mortality through a poetic and introspective lens. Set in 1789, it follows a dying boy’s encounter with Death, personified as a gentle guide who leads him toward the unknown, revealing unexpected beauty within loss.
The film also features flashback sequences depicting the boy’s earlier life, for which we are seeking to cast the Mother of Malakai and a younger version of Malakai. These roles are non-speaking but carry significant emotional weight, serving to illuminate the tenderness and humanity within Malakai’s journey.

The production will be run by a small, professional, and respectful crew, ensuring an intimate and supportive working atmosphere. The director (myself) will be on set at all times to provide guidance, answer questions, and ensure you feel comfortable and confident throughout the shoot.

Compensation:
As this is a student production, all roles are unpaid; however, travel expenses will be covered to ensure your participation is supported.
