Hi! We're a group of enthusiastic third-year students at the Dutch Filmers Academy in Eindhoven, and for our fictional film this year, we're looking for motivated actors to help us bring "Door de Nacht" to life – a film about adulthood and nightlife.

This film depicts high school students who have reached the end of adolescence but are still far from mature. The characters in this film represent the steps one can take toward adulthood: responsibility, impulse control, self-confidence, self-awareness, and identity development. This film makes the boundaries that teenagers cross tangible.

The film is set in the heart of Eindhoven. We follow six friends, each with their own problems, doubts, and insecurities, as they now face the first steps toward adulthood. This means new responsibilities, but also new problems.
The close-knit group of friends decide to go out for a night, unaware of the trouble that awaits them.

Logline
Isa and her friends sneak into the grim world of Eindhoven's nightlife and have to push the boundaries to survive the night.

Description
We're looking for six enthusiastic actors (3M, 3V) to help us bring this film to life. We're looking for actors for the following characters:

Isa (16) - Isa is our main character. She was raised in a sheltered environment by strict parents, which makes her cautious. But she's naturally very curious. She wants to experience adult things, but she's afraid to. Her parents' voices hover in her head, reminding her of her dependence on others. She has little confidence in herself when it comes to socializing and handling difficult situations.

Jort (17) - Jort has transferred from pre-university education (VWO) to senior general secondary education (HAVO) and is hiding behind a careless demeanor. He is deeply troubled by his alcoholic father, and his parents encourage "sociability," which leads to self-sabotaging behavior. He wants help and care, but he's reluctant to ask for it because of his ego and need for independence.

Koen (17) - A good student, the hypeman of his group, and very enthusiastic. He wants his group to have fun and gain social status, but he thinks his friends would find him boring if they saw how much he cares about his own grades and future. This leads to Koen's selfish and irresponsible behavior.

Lotte (17) - Lotte is rebellious, expressive and has had to sacrifice many things to be herself. Her parents do not accept her sexuality and have also placed her out of the home. Because of this sacrifice, Lotte is very proud of her identity, and she can't stand Fran.

Fran (17) - Fran is adventurous, free and caring. Her parents never questioned her
They're very tolerant about her identity, so she's never had to question herself. She knew her sexuality would have little impact on her relationships with those around her. She wants to explore herself calmly, and that includes flirting with Lotte, which is where she runs up against Lotte's sensitivity. Lotte doesn't tolerate the ambiguity well, while Fran enjoys the freedom of no labels and no rushed responsibilities.

Jurgen (18) - Jurgen is experienced, caring, independent, and calm. He held back a year and is floating between friend groups because he's older than the people in his class. He runs into his older group of friends while out and about and wants to switch between the two without abandoning Isa.
