Family Affair Films is a female-led production company dedicated to creating authentic stories that offer a fresh perspective and resonate with a global audience.

In December, we'll begin production on two short film projects: Patronymic (documentary) and Boemerang (fiction). More about the projects themselves below.

Patronymic is an experimental documentary in which filmmaker Mariia Ponomarova searches for the missing part of her name—the patronymic, derived from her father's. Reflecting on patriarchal traces, family ties, and the pain of longing, Mariia explores the fragile bond with her father, who remains behind in war-torn Ukraine.

Boomerang is a story about Ezra, whose 18th birthday isn't a celebration, but a hard deadline. It's the day the juvenile law no longer protects her and she has to leave the youth institution that is her home. Boomerang follows Ezra's desperate struggle against this inevitable farewell.

This internship comes with:
- Place within a production team
- Internship allowance for the entire period of €2,250

Driving license B is required.
Experience on set or in production is a plus.

Job requirements / profile
The work builds up to the shooting periods of the two films.
Every day is different and the tasks vary from moment to moment.

These are examples of activities:
- Find and approach suitable film locations
- Devise the logistics of the planning and communicate this to the crew
- Contact cast members and answer questions
- Analyze film script and highlight production issues
- Contact with the municipality for permits and other matters
- Planning the logistics of the shooting days
- Answer ad hoc questions from crew members
- Being the point of contact for cast and crew on set
- Intervene where necessary and ensure that production runs as smoothly as possible
