Try to Turn Around is an intimate, tragicomic father-son drama about regret, pride, and the inevitable march of time.
The film tells the story of Koen (86), who – now approaching his own end – travels across the Netherlands on a mobility scooter to visit the son he disowned 38 years ago. A short, honest journey in which it slowly becomes clear that it is never too late to turn back.
The film is a project by third-year Film and Audiovisual Media students from the Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, with a professional approach and ambition.

Description
We are looking for an actor (male, playing age 60-80) for the leading role of Koen (86).
Koen is a proud, direct man who has spent his life clinging to his point. He carries authority, toughness, and self-assurance, but also a suppressed concern and regret. The role demands restrained emotion, precision, and authenticity. Grand drama is avoided; everything is in small gestures, silences, and body language.
We are looking for someone who can play subtly and authentically, with a feeling for non-verbal play and understatement.
