Grandma's porch is the place where the whole family gathers, the place where she applauds her grandchildren's dances, where she sits every morning to wake up, with the sun on her face and the sound of birds chirping. It's the place where she always quietly reads her book. While watching over the neighborhood, she also finds time to stay up-to-date on the latest happenings.

With the performance "On the Front Porch," I want to explore various family relationships through the lens of a porch. Themes explored include grief, community, silent pain, and joy.

Inspired by Surinamese and Afro-Caribbean culture, Ghanaian and African culture, and Black culture, I want to draw attention to stories that often don't reach the stage, but belong there.

What do we offer?
Unfortunately, as a student, I cannot afford to pay you, but you will be working with a great cast and the performance will take place in the main hall of Theater CC Amstel.
