"In Pieces" is a survival horror short film inspired by part of the immigrant experience, where you find yourself isolated from loved ones who try to help, but are unable to. The core themes of this film are isolation, trust and unconditional care through distance and time. The film is set in the 80s, in an abandoned cabin in the woods. The horror elements include a monster hunting our main character.

This project relies heavily on sound for exposition and characterization. The monster will only be seen slightly on screen, meaning its sound (a particular roar, for example) will help bring it to life. Another scene gives the audience exposition through a soundscape (laughter, music, bustle of a city, cars screeching to a halt, people screaming...) as well as two scenes in which the sounds of birds chirping and seizing to chirp are essential.
