I am a film major at Emerson College looking for an actor to star as a modern reimagining of Black Pete in an abstract magical realism short film (5 minutes). The film follows the classic holiday character on his off season during the springtime and his struggles with a separation of work and life.
THEMES
The film is a social commentary about the commodification of black bodies and the dichotomy of the black experience throughout history. It is delivered through ambient, meditative visuals and a harrowing tale delivered by a storybook narrator.

What do we offer?
Can supply food. The budget is low due to this being a self funded student production, however, the location is in Kasteel Well, we are filminh on the very beautiful and closed campus, specificallu within the Castle's tower, the ballroom, and the gardens surrounding it. You will also get free headshots and photos done on 35mm film and part of the film will be shot on a Super8, the other on a DSLR. We as a production come from all different backgrounds across the US, in LA, NYC, Houston, and more. We plan to submit the film to festivals throughout the USA and NL.

LEAD - Piet (Male Presenting, Black Presenting, Aged 16-35).
Character: A solemn, at times unreadable man of great poise. He has no speaking parts and conveys all of his inner turmoil and curiosity through his body language and face acting.
