Hi everyone, my name is Brandon Minnaard and I am currently working on my graduation film 'De Stilte Hierna'.

Genre: Feel-good drama about loneliness and isolation.

Story: After the sudden death of her husband, Els is left behind in a closed-off life that was not entirely her own choice. When Saskia brings the urn, an unexpected bond slowly develops between the two women. Through their contact, Els learns to open up to the outside world again and cautiously finds her way back to other people. At the same time, through Els, Saskia also learns to better understand her own distance from her son.

Els (50+ years)
Els is a quiet, withdrawn woman who has little contact with the outside world. Her life with Kees has made her insecure and accustomed to an isolated existence. After his death, she must find her own way for the first time and learn to cope with the outside world.

Kees (50+ years)
Kees is a controlling but caring man who consciously lives outside of society. He believes the outside world is dangerous and therefore maintains control over their lives. He thinks he is protecting Els, but at the same time restricts her freedom.

Saskia (35+ years)
Saskia is an open and sociable woman who is fully engaged in life. She works with people and is helpful and committed. When she meets Els, she wants to help her break out of her isolation and show her that there is more to life outside her closed-off world.
