My name is Bart Coster, and I work as a dramaturg on various content-related projects. My knowledge of script development stems, among other things, from the Master’s in Documentary and Fiction (UvA). Within this master’s program, we were taught by experienced screenwriters such as Cecilie Levy and Sietske Kok on conducting script-level analyses and providing script consultation. Additionally, I have been involved at BNNVARA in supervising various short films, feature films, television films, and (web) series. Besides this broadly applicable knowledge, I have personally delved into the structure of sympathy, the hero’s journey, structure in seriality, and the cognitive processes of the viewer.

The guidance consists of developing a pitch or idea, refining film plans or scripts for further funding, or preparing a script for shooting. We will always start with a personal session to discuss your plan and ideas. The feedback I provide will be compiled and explained verbally during personal follow-up sessions.

Prices are based on a project or €45 per hour. For emerging makers or low-budget projects, a lower rate can be agreed upon in consultation.
