I am part of a group of enthusiastic Film Studies students at Leiden University. Because our degree is so theoretical, we wanted to put our knowledge into practice by making a short film.
Our short film "Two Violets" tells the story of a circle birthday party where the birthday boy or girl is absent. The film combines subjects such as depression with Dutch culture—in the form of the circle birthday party, of course—and the myth of the White Women.

What do we offer?
Due to a lack of budget, we can only offer reimbursement of travel expenses and catered lunch and/or dinner.

Description
We are still looking for the following roles (no experience required):

Florian (~20-26 years old, male, white, medium-length blond hair (the last two are not requirements)) is a confident student who has gotten a little too caught up in student life, the ultimate frat boy. He thinks his studies are okay, but is mainly there for the parties and extracurricular activities (more parties). He likes going to the gym and rides a bike he picked up from Marktplaats last week, since his was thrown into the ditch as a “prank” by his fellow students.

Gijsbert (40-60 years old, male, white) is a middle-aged man who often picks things out of thin air to complain about. He gets through the day with crude jokes and old proverbs. He means well, but they can sometimes rub people the wrong way. He can be described as an ignorant character with a small heart. When Gijsbert is visiting someone, he assumes he will be looked after; after all, he has worked hard in the brewery for years and deserves to be taken care of now.

Johanna (60+ years old, female, white) is Sammie's neighbor. She is an older, hard-of-hearing woman who takes on a kind of grandmother role for the main character and the guests at the party. She is constantly busy organizing things and enjoys doing so. Her love language is therefore service, which fits very well with the conservative views on women's roles of the time in which she grew up. She has spent her entire life in the Achterhoek, and this is clearly audible in her accent and hospitality. Due to this location, she is also familiar with the mythical stories surrounding the Witte Wieven; in fact, she is named after a character in this legend.
